Nadia Dmytryshyn Obituary

NADIA DMYTRYSHYN

October 13, 1925 – August 13, 2018

Our beloved Mother, Baba and Great-Baba passed away at age 92.

She leaves to mourn her passing, and cherish her memory, her children Jean (Mike), Emily, Rick (Sandra); grandchildren Michael (Amber), Alana (Blaine), Liette (James) and great-grandchildren Aidan, Nicolas, McKenna, Kash and Khloe.

Mom was born in Czorcze in the province of Volyn, Ukraine to Ignat and Wasylena Chlystyk and was the youngest of three daughters.  She was taken from her home as a young teenager and sent to work in Germany’s Slave Labour Camps during WWII.

She met and married Dad in Kassel Germany, and immigrated to Canada in 1948, sponsored by caring relatives (Shura family).

Mom was predeceased by our Dad, Mike, in 2008 as well as her parents and sisters in the Ukraine.

Many thanks to Dr. P. Connelly and the staff of St. Mary Ward, Holy Family Nursing Home as well as Sandy Slonoski and Home Care staff for mom’s care.

A private family funeral will be held.

“When the fever of work is over, and our work here is done…..

May he give us safe lodging, a holy rest and peace at last.”
