It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Sukaylo announce his passing on July 24, 2019 at Seven Oaks Hospital in Winnipeg.
Walter is survived by his wife Marusia, his daughter Jennifer, and his nieces and nephew Laura, Lana and Bradley.
He was predeceased by his mother and father, Julia Susukaylo, (Karpynka) and his father Peter Susukaylo, his sister Gloria Snowe (Susukaylo) and brother in law Ken Snowe, along with many aunts and uncles.
If you ever had the pleasure of knowing Walter (Wally or Hawk), you would know that he loved his work at Air Canada as a Lead Financial Agent for the decades he spent there. You would know that he was a talented musician back in the day playing saxophone and clarinet, and you would know how much he loved watching Lawrence Welk, and most importantly you would know he was the nicest, sweetest, most wonderful soul that you’ve ever met. His wife and daughter were his world and he was theirs, and he lived his entire life always trying to make their lives better and make them happy. He was the absolute best husband and father to his family. How much do we love you Dad/Wally? So much that you can’t even count that high because the number doesn’t exist. Double double.
Thank you so much to Holy Family Home for all your loving care. Walter loved his time there, getting to know all the staff and residents, playing bingo and listening to concerts.
The funeral liturgy will be celebrated for Walter on Wednesday, July 31, at 10:00 am at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church, 737 Bannerman Avenue. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery.
