Adele Green Obituary
On Wednesday evening, December 28, 2022 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach our mother Adele Green peacefully left this world to join her husband Jim in Heaven.
Marie Adele (Forcier) Green was born July 31, 1938 in Harris, Ontario. She was the youngest of eight children. She had four brothers and three sisters. At the age of 11 months, Adele lost her mother, and at this time the older siblings helped to raise her.
As an adult, she worked in Red Lake, Ontario as a telephone operator. She met her husband, Jim Green in a local diner, where they were introduced by a mutual friend.
Adele and Jim got married and raised four children Michael (Marlene) Green, Linda Harder (Tim), Theresa Green-Petkau (Norm Petkau) & Philip Green.
They resided in Red Lake Ontario until 1974 when they decided to move onto a farm in Otterburne, Manitoba.
Adele enjoyed farm life and spent many happy hours with the various farm animals & her beloved dogs. She also enjoyed cooking and baking.
In later years, she enjoyed spending time with her 10 grandchildren and her 18 great-grandchildren
In the last few months of mom’s life, she developed a special friendship with a new canine companion by the name of Chico. They spent many happy hours together.
Adele is predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. Her oldest sibling, Anna is still living and will be 99 in March 2023. She was also pre-deceased by her husband, Jim in 2011 and son-in-law Tim Harder in September 2017.
The family sends their sincere thanks to the staff on NU-1 at Bethesda Hospital & Home Care. A special thanks to mom’s nurse, Mandy Bergen for her care and compassion during mom’s final hours.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Steinbach Area & Rescue or the Winnipeg Humane Society.
There will be no service as per mom’s request. Cremation has taken place and a private family celebration of life will be held in the spring.
