Alfred Beavis

Obituary

Peacefully on December 8, 2020 with Gail at his bedside Alf went home to be with the Lord

Alf will be lovingly remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 50 years Gail; his sons Corey (Kelly) and Lenny and his grandson Christopher.  Also left to mourn his passing are his sisters Miriam (Colin), Kim (Glen), and brothers Pat (Joanna) and Larry as well as many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Alf worked at greyhound and was close to his co-workers and made relationships with the many people who crossed his path because of his job.  He was a good golfer.  Alf loved to spend time with family and friends playing cards and games.  In the last 23 years after his brain aneurysm Alf loved taking part in all the celebrations and activities that were held with family, friends and church.  He loved to watch the children.  Alf spent many good days with our family from Park City Gospel Church who took him under their wings and encouraged him. His greatest joy over the last 13 years was watching his grandson grow and going to his sporting activities.

Our family would like to thank everyone who spent time with Alf and helped care for him.  He loved you all.  Thanks to Pastor Derek DeVries who brought peace to Alf in his last hours. Many thanks to the staff of the emergency department and palliative care at St. Boniface Hospital who took such gentle care of him.

Interment was held December 18 and a memorial service will be held when restrictions permit later in 2021.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to make a donation in Alfred's name to your charity of choice.
