Celebration of Life for Andrew James Spence

Andrew James Spence, 68, of Winnipeg, departed this world on January 7, 2022.

Left to cherish his memory, his common-law wife Betty Baptiste of 27 years; and her grandchildren he helped raise; Ileana, Braeden, Dominic and Nathan; and her great-grandchildren, Maurevah and Malayah. He is survived by his sisters, Jean Nobess (Ron) and Kathy Mallett; younger brother David (Lucille); nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. Andrew was predeceased by his parents, John Arthur (1988) and Alice (nee Woodford, 1983) and older brother Ronald (2012).

Andrew enjoyed watching sports, especially football and hockey; and was glad that the Jets returned to Winnipeg. He retired from the Freight House after 13 years and volunteer his time after retirement to help with the food bank distributions.  Andrew enjoyed having a good time and you could find him listening to country music and rockin' out with his air guitar while having a cold bevy. We raise a glass to Andrew as he continues on his journey.

The Honorary Pallbearers are his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his brother David.

The Pallbearers will be his friends Douglas Smith and Braeden Baptiste, his grand-son-in-law Charlie Frost, his nephew James Spence, his niece Karrie Beardy, and Barry Beardy.

Celebration of Life will take place on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at 1 pm at the Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street and interment at Brookside Cemetery, 3001 Notre Dame Avenue, in Winnipeg.

COVID protocols will be followed. Requirements for a max of 50 attendees - face masks, bring proof of double vaccination and photo ID. If an attendee is unable to provide proof of vaccination, the service will be limited to 25 attendees.
