Anna Goodman Obituary

Anna Remona Goodman (Dyck) born in Rosthern, Saskatchewan, on July 3rd, 1947, died peacefully in the early morning of Wednesday, May 21st, 2025, at the Bethesda Health Center in Steinbach, Manitoba, at the age of 77 after a battle with cancer.  Born in Rosthern, she was raised with her 3 turbulent brothers on the farm next to cousins and family and took care of her mother. She and her mother moved to Prince Albert, where she met David Neville Goodman and shotgun married at the age of 16. They had 4 beautiful children together and set up shop and house in Flin Flon, Manitoba.

Known to all as Remona or Mona, she was a creative genius who bubbled "out of the box" ideas and solutions for any problem. She was a loving and affectionate mother. Mona's life was centered around discussions on sewing, God, Egypt, archeology, English vocabulary and general "did you know?" added in with silliness and foreign accents. When Remona had decided that 15 years of marriage was enough, she broke out on her own and went back to high school. She then used her sewing skills and worked at the local dry cleaners for the next 13 years.

After some tanning strategies, religious stalking and rough starts back into the dating world, she hooked her wagon up with Robert Leblanc. They travelled all over while working together and had various adventures before settling in Sprague, Manitoba. There, she set up her sewing shop and collected fabric projects into a startling number of outbuildings that Robert would build for them as the collection grew. She developed a vivid interest for UFOs after a sighting by her house. She was enthralled by the possibilities! As Ramona's health declined, she turned her attention to sewing outfits for Barbies in order to exercise her fashion design skills. Always amazing!

She is survived by her partner of 32 years ; Robert Leblanc, her brothers; Daniel Benjamin and Henry Lawrence Dyck, her daughter Mary Anne Goodman, her sons; Daniel John and Clark Neville Goodman as well as her 10 grandchildren. She was pre-deceased by her mother and father Agatha and Henry Dyck, her brother Verner Robert (Bob) and her oldest daughter Irene Janette McConaghy. Remona did not wish to have a funeral, but she invites you to honour her by making contributions to cancer research. She was grateful for the hospital visits and love.

She will be sorely missed.
