Anne Balasko Obituary

It is with sadness but also gratitude for many shared years that we announce that with God’s grace Anne entered Eternal Rest on April 5, 2022.

She will be missed and lovingly remembered by daughter Donna, Son-in-law Bill, Granddaughters Angie (Russell) and Sherri (Ché) and many nieces and nephews. Anne has now reunited with her husband John (1971); Parents Julia and Nick Wasnick; Sisters Kay, Mary, Nettie, Sophie; Brothers Peter, John, Don; parents-in-law Elias and Julia Balasko; Brothers-in-law Dan, Nestor; Sisters-in-law Rae, Patricia, and Lynda; Nephews Rick LeForte and Jim DiLay.

In recent years Anne shared many stories of a happy childhood growing up in a large family with 7 siblings. It was a privilege to spend time with her at St. Joseph’s Residence where she resided for the past 6 years. She enjoyed the many activities there including Bingo games, Card games, Sing-along, and Outdoor activities in memory lane. She was reminiscent of fun times with Angie and Sherri as they were growing up. Also, the many years working at Eaton’s and the lasting friendships. Anne liked to travel and was especially fond of Skidegate, BC.

Thank you to the staff that cared for Anne over the years and especially in recent months. Thank you to Father Isidore Dziadyk OSBM for your visits and prayers. A private service will take place at a later date.
