Anthony Stephan Hendricks, 90 of Winnipeg passed away at the Winnipeg Health Science Centre Hospital on September 21st, 2023.
Anthony was born in Kreuzberg (Fraserwood) Manitoba on March 9th, 1933. Eventually he met and married his wife Jarice who hailed from nearby Gimli. Anthony spent his entire working career at Canada Packers. As devoted Ukrainian Catholics, Anthony and Jarice worked tirelessly on different projects and committees and even the world famous “Perogie Hotline” with their church family. Anthony further demonstrate his commitment to the Ukrainian community by running the bar at the Ukrainian Pavilion at Folklorama for many years.
Anthony was predeceased by Jarice, his wife of over 50 years, his parents and most of his siblings. Anthony is survived by his children, grandchildren and even a great grandchild as well as several cats in the family.
Anthony always was a man of his word and integrity mattered a great deal to him. Unfortunately, that cannot be said for everyone and Anthony had to carry the pain of some of their actions his entire life.
“My children, the time for me is truly past. I have loved you all to the very last. Weep not for me, but courage take; and love one another for my sake.”
