Douglas Weland

1949 - 2020

Douglas Weland, beloved husband, father and papa passed away suddenly but peacefully at the age of 71, on October 10, 2020 with his family by his side. 

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Susan, son Jamie and wife Tracy, their children Scott and Kevin, daughter Jenna Johnson and her children Kate and Ty, devoted lifelong friends Keith and Nancy Rosamond, brother Larry Weland, sister Diane Lippert, sisters-in-law Linda Shecter and MaryLynn Forest and families.

Doug and young family moved to Winnipeg from Elmira, Ontario in 1980.  He was very passionate about his many hobbies over the years, including cars, hunting, fishing and golf.

Doug loved Susan and his kids and was very proud of his grandchildren.  He always checked in and loved to hear of their interests, accomplishments, and adventures.  He loved nothing more than to find them a good deal.   He will be forever missed.

The family would like to thank Dr. N. Rush, Dr. Z. Bshouty and the amazing staff in the MICU at Health Sciences Centre for his care over the last week and several years.
