Eileen Kauffeldt Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Eileen Kauffeldt (nee Taraschuk), loving Mom/ Mumzie, devoted Baba, sister, and friend on December 13, 2021.

Our mom was born November 17, 1941, by a midwife on a farm in the municipality of Kreuzburg, Mb. She was a farm girl at heart but left for big city lights in hopes of finding employment. Landing a job at the Fabric Center, Polo Park allowed her to explore her love for fashion. She was stylish and made her own clothes. She had a knack for engaging with people: a gift of the gab. Eventually, mom moved on and found employment with Northern Telecom /C-Mac. She was a dedicated employee for 30 plus years, finally saying Bye-Bye in 2004. Working hard and with integrity were her core values and she carried these throughout her life

Mom played horseshoes, enjoyed a good game of Gin Rummy, and a cold beer on a warm summer’s night. She became the Hallmark channel’s biggest fan and knew the movie of the week’s plotline by heart. She always had a room at the table and an open door. She was every friend’s bonus mom.

Her family was her life and her life was her family. It is with broken hearts we say goodbye. Mom’s memory will be forever cherished by daughters Anethea Marshall (Brian Krysowaty) Tania (Dan) Gryszczuk, precious grandchildren “Pumpkin” Curtis Marshall (Liz), “Ukrainian Princess” Kira-Ann Marshall (Tyler). Mom also leaves her sister Helen (William) Werestiuk, brother Henry (Iris) Taraschuk, and families. She was pre-deceased by her parents John and Annie Taraschuk.

We are tremendously grateful to mom’s homecare staff: Carmelita, Marjorie, Arlyn, Joy, Ewa, Maria, Amanda, Victoria, Susan, Odessa, Eva, Jonalyn, Jazz, Editha, Tania, Barbara, Tavleen, Arashdeep, Kamaljeet, Kanwaljit, and Val. Your care, concern, and friendship allowed Mom to remain in her home.

A service will be held on Wednesday, December 22 2021 at 11:00 AM at Korban Funeral Chapel 907 Main St, Winnipeg, MB. R2W3P2.
