With great sadness, we announce the passing of our mother Ewdokia (Doris) Segeda on May 4, 2022. A private family service will take place. Our beautiful and beloved mother is resting peacefully in God’s hands eternally. Mama’s life was difficult and complicated. Orphaned by war as a child, she survived by her resilience, determination, and instincts. She worked tirelessly to create a life for herself and her family. She deserved much more. Mama was the foundation and heart of our family. A selfless protector and provider she quietly managed and did everything necessary to care for, sustain and support our family. Her boundless love supported everyone, even through situations that may have disappointed her. Mama never abandoned anyone. She was fierce in her desire to give us more in life than what she had in life. A wonderful cook, Mama fed our bodies, nourished our souls, and always brought the family together. She enjoyed singing, dancing, walking, gardening, sewing and great-grandchildren.
In recent years, the challenges of age motivated a relentless determination to exercise and walk. She would always say it made her happy. We pray mama knows the love and pride we have and always had for her. Mama is our role model and our perpetual blessing. Our Mother, Baba, Great Baba and friend are loved always, and we remain eternally grateful for her and to her.
Left to mourn her passing are her daughters, Oksanna and Slava (Claude); her grandson, Clay (Karina), Petro (Lauren) and great-grandsons, Junior, Adrian, Gabriel and Alex. The family wishes to thank Dr. Terry Babick and Dr. Andrea Babick for the care and support they provided for our mother.
