Goodness and fairness never die,
They go shining on like stars in the sky.
Just as honour and truth endure forever,
Death is powerless to destroy or sever.
It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Frank, after leaving his special imprint for 92 years here on earth. Surrounded by loved ones, he peacefully passed from this world to the next up in heaven.
Left to cherish his memory are his caring wife of 46 years Elaine, his sons Gerald, Lawrence (Ashley and their children Maksim, Amelia), Frankie, daughters Brenda (Dan and their children Natasha, Kara), Natalka, granddaughter Melanie, family member Harry, sister-in-law Janet as well as numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Frank was predeceased by his first wife Katherine (nee Danyluk), father Frank, mother Julia, siblings Romana (Dan), Joe (Francis), John, Emily (Frank), stepdaughter Barbara, grandson Ryan and family member Dennis.
Frank was born on Sept. 2, 1933, in Glenavon, Sk, where he grew up with his 4 siblings. As a young man, Frank started his career with TD bank in his hometown as a teller. Over his 45 years with the bank he worked in various positions living in many different towns across Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The last 20+ years were spent in Winnipeg and Cartwright, where he rose to become branch manager.
Frank always had a strong love for sports, most notably curling and baseball where he excelled.
As Frank transitioned into a family man, the arrival of children enriched his life. He was proud of his children devoting his free time to be involved in their life. Dad was a gentle soul with a strong connection to God and his faith, using the power of prayer for his strength. He had a hard work ethic and family first mantra which he passed down to his children and grandchildren. Never one to miss a family visit, outing or activity, he was always there for his family and strived to keep those connections near and far. This includes numerous road trips to Saskatchewan and memorable trips to his parents’ homeland in Poland/Ukraine
Frank lived out his retirement years with Elaine in the Community of Stonewall. Their home was always open to family and friends. Many gatherings and celebrations took place there over the years, leaving rich & lasting fond memories for us all.
We are so grateful that as dad’s health declined, he had the loving care and support of his wife Elaine & daughter Natalka, allowing him to live out his final years in the comfort of his home.
Thank you to all the family and friends who visited and sent their love and prayers and support.
The family also wishes to thank Dr. J Mayba and the Interlake Home-care team for their compassionate care.
