Frank Kruszynski

The lake is calm tonight.

The warmth of the sand

and the sun warming your face

will keep your soul forever peaceful

with the Lord’s embrace.

It is with deep sorrow that we share that Frank Kruszynski, loving son, husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully and unexpectedly at the age of 86 on Wednesday, March 3, 2022.  

He was born to Stanley and Mary (Oliwa) Kruszynski on December 14, 1935, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.   He was the lifelong partner of 63 years with Alice Kruszynski; previously deceased. 

Frank and Alice met while both attended Isaac Newton High School. They were married in September 1957.  Frank and Alice loved to travel, explore, and share their appreciation for the outdoors and the arts with their children and grandson.  Frank loved to paint, decorate pysanky, and when he wasn’t jogging, even at 40 below, he had enjoyed a good cigar at times.  Some of Frank’s fondest times were going to Grand Beach with Alice.  His love for Alice and being able to share so many wonderful times with his children and grandson at the “Lake” either camping or at the cottage was a real joy.  Frank enjoyed being able to get out in the canoe and fish for the freshest of pickerel. 

Frank was a planning engineer who had worked for Manitoba Telephone System for the duration of his professional career and was an active volunteer in the community, including the Garden City Community Centre, Seven Oaks Curling Club, and the Winnipeg Hawkeyes Junior Football Club.  He was also a long-time MTS Pioneer.  

Frank will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his children, Chris (Pam), Gwenn, Karen (Terry), Glen (Monique); grandson, Justin; and his many friends.  

A special thank you to Dr. D. Vergara for his compassion and care for Frank over the past few years. 

A funeral mass will be said for Frank on Thursday, March 10th, 2022, at St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:30 am with a viewing at 10:00 am.
