Obituary

Suddenly on May 1, 2020, Fred Newediuk passed away at home at the age of 88.  He was predeceased by his parents John and Mary Newediuk, his brother-in-law Sam Stutsky and sisters-in-law Helen and Helen Newediuk.

He is survived by his sister Anne Stutsky, his late brother Steve Newediuk, son Darrell (Janet), daughter Linda Labay (Andy), son David (Kim), grandchildren Michael (Shelly), Steven, Jessica (Eric), Levi, and Kailynn, great-granddaughter Avery, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Fred was born in Alvena, Saskatchewan on December 26, 1931, and lived there until his early 20’s when he moved to Winnipeg.  He spent more than 30 years working at Dominion Lumber and spent the last number of years working at Rene’s Courier.  He was a long-time member of St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and more recently of St. Anne’s Ukrainian Catholic Church.  He was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus.

Cremation has taken place with a funeral service and interment to follow at a later date. Rev. Fr. Isidore Dziadyk, OSBM will be officiating.  Thank you to Korban Funeral Chapel for arrangements.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Mary the Protectress Villa.  Chrystos Voskres
