Fred Rychliwski

Fred Rychliwski passed away on October 23, 2023, at the age of 90 in his hometown of Winnipeg. Fred was the eldest of four children, born to Ukrainian immigrant parents Natalie and Nicholas. He left school at an early age to work and support his mother and younger siblings, Ed, Morris, and Anne. Fred joined the army at a young age as a corporal and later as a captain with the reserve army. Fred became an ironworker and eventually attained the position of business agent for Local 728 for over 22 years. Fred leaves behind three children whom he loved very much: Bradley, Leslie, and Susan (Jim). He will be missed by the many who knew him and who cared for him in his later years. We will especially miss his vividly detailed, humorous storytelling about his earlier years in life.

Thank you to Dr. Terry Babick, the staff of River Ridge Retirement Residence, and Seven Oaks General Hospital. Interment has taken place at Brookside Cemetery where he rests. He was very loved and will be dearly missed.
