Helen Marcischuk Obituary

In Loving Memory of Helen Marcischuk

It is with deep sadness and love that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, baba, sister, aunt, and friend, Helen Marcischuk on May 4, 2026.

Helen was born on July 23, 1931 in Mountain Road Manitoba, to Elie and Lilly Kostenchuk.  Helen lived a life rooted in faith, family, culture, and community. She was devoted to her Ukrainian heritage and found great joy in sharing it with those around her. She loved singing Ukrainian songs with her brothers and sisters, and her beautiful voice was also shared through her participation in both the Ukrainian Millenium Choir and church choir.

A woman of deep faith and service, Helen was an active and dedicated member of the Holy Eucharist Women’s League, where she formed lasting friendships and contributed countless hours to her parish and community.

Her kitchen was a place of love, warmth, and tradition. She was especially known for her cherished kolachi/bread, pyrohy, perishke prepared for family gatherings, holidays, and anyone fortunate enough to sit at her table.

She was a loving mother, baba, sister, and friend whose strength, kindness, wisdom, and unwavering love will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

She is lovingly survived by her daughters, Sharon (Ihor Holinka), Wendy (Myron Semegen), grandchildren Ulana (Josh), Stephen, Christina (Marvick), Michael (Alexandra), Alexander (Iryna), Laryssa (Mohammad) and great grandchildren Isabella, Sophia, William, Mykola and Charlize.

She also leaves to mourn, sisters Elsie and Jean and brothers George and Orest and numerous nieces, nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband Ernie May 5, 2018.

Funeral services will be held at Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Church, 505 Watt Street with Father Michael Winn officiating. Interment to follow at Holy Family Cemetery.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Riverview Health Centre-Pallative Care.

In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre.

God saw you getting tired

when a cure was not to be

So he closed his arms around you

And whispered come to me

You didn't deserve what you went through

So he took you home to rest

God's garden must be beautiful

For he only takes the best

Вічная пам’ять.
