It is with heavy hearts that the family of Henri Meilleur announces his passing after a brief battle with lung cancer at the Health Sciences Centre at the young age of 69.
Henri will be deeply missed by his loving wife Jackie, stepdaughter Erica, 2 grand stepsons Michael & Nicholas, his sisters, Gisele, Suzanne, Diane (John), Murielle (Guy), Lucille (Brian) and his nieces, nephews and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Alcide & Jeanne Meilleur and brother Norman.
Henri was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in his late teens which was challenging at times but it never stopped him from enjoying life. He was a dedicated worker and his employers loved him for his strong work ethic and devotion to “getting the job done”.
Henri had a passion for animals, especially cats. Over the years of working in warehouses, he would come across cats and kittens and it would break his heart to see so many in need. As a result, he and Jackie adopted several or found them good homes.
He loved doing woodwork and had his own little workshop where he made jewelry boxes, coffee tables, end tables, shelves and aggravation game boards that he gifted to family and friends.
Music was a vital element of his life that helped him through painful times. He also appreciated watching all action movies.
Henri absolutely loved playing aggravation, numerous card games and cribbage that Jackie will dearly miss in the mornings with coffee.
The family would like to thank the angels at the HSC GH6 for the wonderful care they gave him for the short period he was there.
A celebration of life notice will be added in at a later date.
