Iris Chroniak (nee Horobec)
It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of our mother and grandmother at Park Manor Nursing Home on February 25, 2020.
Mom was born in Ukraine and came to Canada with her mother and Brother Bill, to join her father.
She was predeceased by her husband Stephen, her parents Anna and Andrew and by her brother Bill and sister-in-law Doris.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Larry and his wife Gisele; grandchildren Kristopher and Ashley; Donald and his wife Kimberley; grandchildren Stacey and Jeremy; great grandchildren Ella, Sophie and Hayden as well as many relatives, nieces and nephews in Winnipeg, Vancouver, Ukraine, Buenos Aires and Argentina.
Mom’s life was her family, her home and her strong faith. She was a member of St. Michaels Ukrainian Catholic Church, member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League, member of the church and millennium choir. Upon her retirement from Agriculture Canada, she devoted her time to Pastoral Care work.
Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 400 Day Street at 11:00 am on Wednesday March 4, 2020.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba, 675 McDermott Avenue, Winnipeg MB R3E 0V9 or Park Manor Personal Care Home, 301 Redonda Street, Winnipeg MB R2C 1L7.
Arrangements are entrusted to Korban Funeral Chapel.
When I have gone, remember I am with Jesus.
Then do not grieve because I have passed away.
And will you weep because I did not stay
It’s only for a spell we must be parted.
Not many years on earth to us are given
And When my Saviour tells me you are coming.
I’ll go with Him and welcome you to Heaven.
