Janet Marie Tkachuk
July 4, 1958 – July 10, 2020
It is with heavy hearts & sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our dear daughter & sister Janet, on July 10, 2020 due to complications from diabetes at the age of 62.
Janet was born July 4, 1958 to Joan and Stan Tkachuk in Winnipeg at St. Boniface Hospital. Mum and Dad always had her very involved with them at her happy home. Listening and dancing to Country and Ukrainian music with Mum and Dad was one of her favourite times. Janet especially enjoyed Charlie Pride who she was able to see in concert a few times with Mum for her birthday.
Janet enjoyed football, hockey and baseball especially when she was able to attend a game. Janet had a passion for reading and doing all sorts of crafts. She attended Community Ventures for ten years which was the highlight of her day, she was always bringing home crafts that she made and was so proud of them. Every day Janet came home with a different story to tell about her day at the program. Mum and Dad attended all of Janet’s events whether it was a fashion show or a tea they were there to support her and to show her how proud they were of her accomplishments. Janet’s achievements presented her with many awards. She made many friends at the program where they went on many different outings. Most of all Janet loved being with Mum and Dad going out for meals, going to the casinos or for a nice Sunday car ride to many different beaches for lunch.
Janet celebrated her 62nd birthday Sunday July 5th at her sister Kellie and brother in law Jack’s home with Mum, Dad and her favorite fur babies; Saylavon, Ginny and Smokey.
When she became a special angel in heaven, she left to mourn her much adored parents Joan and Stan, sister Kellie (Jack).
You will always be sadly missed, always remembered and loved. We will especially miss your cute little grin.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, July 21st at 11:00am at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street. Followed by a private family gathering at All Saints Cemetery.
