John Walter Borys

On September 8th, 2025, our beloved husband, father and grandfather John Walter Borys passed away at the age of 87.

John was born in Western Ukraine, coming to Canada with his parents at the age of 11. He attended St. Nicholas School and during his working years was employed in the automotive field at Capital Ford, Dominion Motors and Fast Parts.

He was very involved at his church, Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral.  He would always assist at Ladies League functions. He had a heart of gold and helped everyone

A hobby that became a passion for him was the videographer work that he did. He would video tape private functions as well as events at the church, including all Ukrainian School Graduations, by this he made lasting memories for many. Some of his videos were donated to the Ukrainian Archeparchial Museum.  His work shall live on.

John was predeceased by his parents Wasyl and Parania Borys and his in-laws Roman and Karolina Mynik. Also by his brother Mykola and his wife Joycie, and his nephew Myron.

He will be sadly missed by his dearly beloved wife of 65 years, Lesia, his four sons Steven (Claudette), Roman (Heather), Robert (Pat) and Peter, his grandchildren Nichole, Kristen, Jaime (♱), Ryan and Cory, and his loyal and beloved dog Charlie.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 13th at 11:30 a.m., at Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street.  Interment will take place at a later date.

He will forever live in our hearts!

He will never be forgotten.
