Laurette Musso
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Laurette Musso.
Laurette passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023, at the Health Sciences Centre after suffering a stroke. She is survived by her children Daniel (Michelle), Lise (Paul) her grandchildren, Mélanie (Lucan), Gina (Braden), Jean-Luc and her great grandchildren Magnolia, Tucker, Hazel and Sydney.
She is predeceased by her husband, Paul, her father Armand, and her brothers Claude (Lynne), Arthur and Jeanette Poirier. Her in-laws Henri and Orise Musso and brother-in-law Marius Musso.
Laurette was born and raised in Otterburne and was the eldest daughter of 16 children. After graduating from St. Adolphe High School, she returned to Otterburne where she met her future husband of 54 years, who was attending Otterburne College.
Laurette was a fighter. After giving birth to her two children, she found herself gravely ill. She had her 1st heart operation in 1975 and her 2nd heart operation in 1994. Throughout her life, she never let her health issues deter her from doing what she loved.
Her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her greatest loves. She loved acknowledging the birthdays of everyone on Facebook, sending healing cards to those in need and spoiling her grandchildren.
We want to thank the nurses and health care aids on ward GH6 at the Health Science Centre for their compassion and kindness during her stay.
A funeral service will be held at Otterburne Church on Saturday, August 26th at 11:00 am. A reception will follow at the Otterburne Curling Club.
On t’aime gros gros Maman!
