Larry peacefully passed away and reunited with his wife Madeleine whom he was widowed from in 2019 after 55 years of marriage. Larry will be lovingly remembered by his son Lorne (Lee Ann) and cherished granddaughter Lexi and son Dwayne. He will be missed by his brother David (Marielle), many nieces and nephews, loving-in-laws as well as lifelong friends Harry and Joyce James.
Larry grew up in Birtle, Manitoba, and moved to Winnipeg for work and met Madeleine whom he married in 1963. Larry worked many years for the City of Winnipeg and also enjoyed running his side business painting and decorating during most of his working years. Larry finally decided to slow down and retire officially when he turned 75. Larry was never one who like to sit still and if you went to his Sals on Plessis, chances are you would have run into him along with his buddies that were regulars there. Larry was very independent and fortunate to have his freedom and health until this last year and a half of his life.
Larry’s family wished to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at The Convalescent Home of Winnipeg in which they took wonderful care of him, the resident with a sweet tooth in which they made sure Larry, was given his daily ice cream at least once a day. Due to Covid restrictions, a private family church service is planned.
