Linda Joan Watkins at the age of 78 got her wish and passed away peacefully in her sleep at her home on December 3, 2024.
Linda had asked her eldest son Todd to spend the previous Monday night at her house.
Linda was born May 27th, 1946 in Winnipeg and was very much a Suzy Homemaker. She took great pride in the cleanliness of her home and beware if you ever walked on her floors with your shoes on, you were definitely told in the form of a Watkins temper.
Linda spent her early years working at Shell. Then, for the next 30 years working as an insurance agent.
Linda used to love hosting the family supper on Sunday while we all lived at home. She would make her famous roast and potatoes, plus broccoli and cauliflower with cheese, and of course her gravy. Family meant everything to Linda.
Linda and Roy lived at 31 Autumnlea Path for many years and put in a pool in 1986. There were many summers enjoyed with many people over the years. That pool and gazebo held many stories. Linda would always sit on her porch and be seen looking out the window to see what people were doing and how much they were drinking.
Linda and Roy spent 8 wonderful years in Mesa Arizona, making many amazing friendships. Roy would spend the morning at their local watering hole while Linda got her beauty rest. Every day at 1 p.m. they would waddle down to the pool and then onto happy hour with the gang.
A special thank you to Todd Watkins and Monique Tail-Lefer. Three years ago you sold your home to care for both our parents. Tara and myself will cherish that forever til the day we pass.
Linda lost her husband Roy on October 28th, 2023, and in this short time, her health seemed to decline almost on a daily basis. Mom, give Dad a big hug and kiss from us all. You are both finally together again. Growing up in that house was not easy; there was a lot of Watkins yelling. My parents truly did love each other.
Linda is survived by her sons Todd (Denise), Troy (Debbie), daughter Tara (Kevin) and grandchildren Madi, Cody, Ryder, Jordon and Cory. Plus many dogs and cats along the way.
As per Lindas wishes, there will be no celebration of life, just a small family gathering to honour our dear Mother.
