Maria Sluzar

January 18th, 1927 ~ April 22nd, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Maria Sluzar (nee Stahiv) of Winnipeg, MB, who passed away peacefully on April 22, 2025 at Holy Family Home.

Maria was born on January 18th, 1927 in Vyshnivchyk, in the Lviv region, Ukraine.  In 1971 she came to Canada to visit her father where she met her husband, Andrij.  She was reunited with her family in 1987.  She was able to spend the rest of her years with her family. She enjoyed walks at the beach, days at the park and window shopping at Eaton’s.

Maria was predeceased by her husband Andrij in 2008.  She is survived by daughter Tatiana (Vasyl), grandchildren Ihor (Natalia), Petro (Anna), great grandchildren Oksana (Tyler), Vasyl, Olia and great great grandchildren Amelia and Luca

A funeral service will be held at Sts. Volodymyr and Olha Cathedral, 115 McGregor Street, on Saturday April 26th at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery.
