It is with heavy hearts that the family of Michael Misurak announce his passing at Health Science Centre after a brief illness, on February 21, 2026, at the age of 78.
Leaving to mourn his passing are his wife Linda, sons Brad, Chris (Patrica Lui), and Mark. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Peter and Pearl, many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Mike grew up on Jefferson Ave., and attended Victory School, Garden City Junior High, and Garden City Collegiate. He began his career with Olivetti-Underwood as a Typewriter Technician. From there, he went on to become a Manitoba Government employee as an Office Equipment Technician, retiring in 2005 from MDA-Home Care Equipment.
Mike was very proud of his sons and loved spending time with them. He spent countless hours playing and watching video games with the boys. During the summer, he’d load up the truck with their bikes and take them to different parks to ride their trails, or just bike around our part of town on their “adventure”.
Mike did repairs and upgrades around the house, yard, and to our vehicles. Even if he didn’t know how to accomplish something, he’d always manage to figure it out and do it himself.
Mike loved to laugh and was a natural at telling jokes and stories that kept you engaged right to the end.
Mike had an interest in astronomy and science fiction, especially Nova and Star Trek. He would watch every rerun on TV whenever he could.
Mike and Linda were next-door neighbours since childhood, then began dating in 1974 and married in 1977. First came Brad in 1980, then twin sons Chris & Mark in 1985.
Mike’s first new car was his 1968 Barracuda, which he was exceptionally proud of. Over the years, he entered it into many car shows.
The family would like to thank Health Science Centre for their care and compassion during Mike’s illness.
Cremation has taken place, and in compliance with Mike’s wishes, no funeral will be held.
Our family chain is broken, and nothing seems the same, but as God calls us one by one the chain will link again
