Olga (Olha) was born October 7, 1922 in Mefedowich Kubren, Poland, to parents Samion and Mary Ladysiuk, As Olga grew, she played along side her two sisters, the twins, and brother, tended some chickens, a few pigs and one temperamental horse.
She met and married the love of her life Gregory, and soon there after their first-born child, a son named Peter was born. It was then their journey started from Poland to Germany and onward to their new home in Canada.
In 1949 they crossed the ocean on a ship named The USS General W. M. Black, along with many other immigrants. The voyage lasted 7 terrible treacherous days, to which when they landed, brought them to Pier 21, in Halifax Canada.
It was from there they took another long and weary voyage on the train, that brought them to their new and final home in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They decided they had enough of traveling.
Settling roots in Winnipeg Olga found herself working various jobs, but as her family slowly grew, she left her career to focus on raising her family. Welcoming three more children; 2 boys, Tom (aka Ihor) and Hanko (aka. Hank), and a girl named Mary to their home
Olga is loved and appreciated by her two sons, daughter, and her Grandson, Dez.
