Phyllis Nazeravich Obituary

PHYLLIS NAZERAVICH (nee Mormal)
January 13,1938 - January 28, 2021

Following a 13 year journey with Alzheimer’s, our Mom and Grandma passed away peacefully at her long time residence of Concordia Place care home. Her loss is deeply felt by her son Garnet (Lynn), daughter Tanis, grandchildren Marissa, Cassie, Joy, Grace, Luke and her only sister Connie (Joe).  She will also be missed by many relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by her loving husband Myron, in 2015.

Mom was born in Molson, Manitoba and following her move to Winnipeg, she married the love of her life in 1959.

Mom worked in the accounting department at Eaton’s for 9 years before welcoming her children into their warm and loving family. She dedicated herself solely to their upbringing, and was a steadfast volunteer for many years. Later in her life, she was fortunate to discover a marvellous “work family” at Penner Foods. When Myron retired, wanting to spend summers at the cottage north of Gimli, and all winter at their place in Texas, he had to work hard to convince her to retire with him.

Mom was a proud member of Grey Street United Church for many years. She created handicrafts that many family and friends have on their Christmas trees and in our homes. She and Myron adored all kinds of dancing. She enjoyed setting puzzles, sudoku and baking. Her lucky family relished her creations.

Mom’s commitment to make the world a better place can be best described in this quote “Life is good when you are happy; but much better when others are happy because of you.”

Heartfelt thanks to all of the incredible staff at Concordia Place. For almost six years you became part of Our Family. We will never forget your kindnesses.

An immediate family service was held February 8th. An interment of both Phyllis and Myron together took place at Golden Bay cemetery.

Donations may be graciously made to Concordia Foundation: CP Recreation in Phyllis’ memory.
