Reynald Lauze Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our kind, soft-spoken, gentle, and loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife Linda (Paterson), his daughters Karen (Fred), Catherine (Glenn) and Shelly (Max) Lauze, his stepchildren Cathryn (Tim) Paterson-Lanouette, Colin (Janet) Paterson, seven grandchildren Shantel, Danielle, Kayla, Christopher, Jolene, Carter, and Noah as well as eight great-grandchildren.

Rey was pre-deceased by his parents Joseph and Marie-Ange, his sister Claudette Brisebois, infant granddaughter Hailey Paterson, and sister-in-law Valerie Lauze. He is survived by his siblings Yvette Pelletier, Raymond (Therese), Gilles, Jocelyne (Eddy) Jaremowich, Jacques (Susan), brother-in-law Marcel Brisebois, several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Rey was raised in St. Jean Baptiste, Manitoba. The second oldest of seven children, Rey ventured to Winnipeg in his mid-teens to seek employment. He began working at National Record Distributors as a stock boy working his way up the ranks to become President of the company, leaving National after more than thirty years of service.

Rey's love of fishing leads to his next entrepreneurial venture in life! He created MorningStar Manufacturing (Kramer Lake Tackle) and along with Linda, they worked in the shop on their property in Anola, Manitoba. His product was distributed to many points in Canada and the U.S.A

Rey was a man of many talents - his love of camping, fishing, and the outdoors led him to build his own motor home! He and his family enjoyed spending time in the motor home at Nutimik Lake and taking trips in it to other provinces and the states. Rey enjoyed doing landscape projects in the yard and especially doing woodworking in his shop - making everything from a Victorian sleigh, tables, doll cradles to name a few. He also enjoyed reading, working on puzzles, and Sudoku!

Rey and Linda had fun taking vacations in their motor home, spending time at their tiny cottage on Kramer Lake, Ontario, but they especially enjoyed the peace and tranquility of their country home and yard in Anola, Manitoba, enjoying the birds and wildlife.

The family gratefully thanks the staff at Park Manor Personal Care Home for their compassionate and loving care of Rey. We will always remember his mischievous smile, his twinkling eyes, and his quiet mannerism.

In accordance with Rey's wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Parkinson Canada at parkinson.ca (donate - make a gift in memory of Reynald Lauze) or The Friends of Hailey Foundation (donation link at www.patersonfamily.ca).

Rest in Peace, Rey - we'll always love and remember you.
