Sandra Vaillant

It is with great sadness that our family announces the passing of our beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister, at St. Boniface Hospital on September 10, 2025, at the age of 67.

Sandra was predeceased by her Father Omar Vaillant, as well as her brothers Glen, Barry and Bruce, and by the love of her life Brian Dewey.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved Mother, Jean Yurkoski, her Sisters Bonnie, Marilyn and Darlene, her children Tammy Anderson, Jennifer Dewey and Matthew Dewey, her grandchildren Colby, Raiden and Kyra, as well as nieces and nephews.

Sandra was born and grew up in Thunder Bay, Ontario and was very close with her brothers.  She was a free spirit with a mind of her own!  She followed her heart wherever it took her, which led her to running away from home on many occasions.

At the age of 19, she met the love of her life, Brian Dewey, and they were married on June 19th, 1978.  It was then that they purchased their first home in Fort William, Thunder Bay, and started a family, welcoming their first daughter, Tammy, in January 1979.  It was a few years later that they welcomed their second daughter, Jennifer, in April 1981, followed by their only son, Matthew, who came along in October 1982

Sandra was a wonderful mother who always took the time to celebrate and cherish her children.

Sandra faced her challenges, whether it be from mental health or from addictions. But through all her darkness, she never forgot about her family, showing love in the best ways she could. She had a smile that never seemed to fade, with a laugh that was infectious to those around her.

Sandra you will be forever loved and missed and we take comfort in knowing that you are seated at the table, having a beer with the love of her life Brian, Father and Brothers.
