It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our Mom/Baba/Babcha Stephanie Luch. On July 7, 2023, our mom was granted eternal peace with her loving family by her side.
Stephie was born on March 15, 1939, to her parents Bertha and Nicholas Dudych. Mom was predeceased by her husband Russell Luch of almost 66 years, her brothers Joe and Stanley and sister-in-law Olga. Mom loved her family more than life itself and would always put our needs before her own. She was known for her famous cooking of ribs, holubchi, strawberry mousse and homemade lemon pie just to name a few. Mom was adamant that Sunday dinners were always a must for the family and knew how to make us feel guilty if you weren’t in attendance! Baba was blessed with her two grandsons whom she loved unconditionally, their beautiful wives and of course her three amazing great grandchildren which she was able to meet and love.
Mom leaves to carry on her memory her son Leo and daughter-in-law Tammy, her daughter Natalie and son-in-law Dennis and her pride and joy grandchildren Roman (Chandal) and Matthew (Kayla) and great-grandchildren Eve, Mae Stephanie named after Babcha and baby Ashton. Although our family may be small in numbers we will continue her traditions instilled in us with our family Tommy (Oksana) Marko and Alyssa, Jimmy (Tammy) and our Toronto Dutchak Family who never missed to visit her when they were here.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Andrea Babick for her unwavering compassion and care for our mom and us as a family! Words cannot express our gratitude to Dr. Babick and the staff on St. Francis Unit 2C at Holy Family where mom resided for the past 7 years. Nurse Kathy Heide became a “daughter” to Mom and will forever be in our family.
A private service will take place on July 13, 2023, with Father Bohdan Lukie followed by an interment at Holy Family Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations in Stephie’s memory can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society or Alzheimer / Dementia Society of Canada.
Mom/Baba/Babcha, you have been the strongest person through this lengthy battle, and we promise to continue to live on your family values, ethic, and loving ways. We have you, along with Dad as our guardian angels looking over us from above to continue to keep us safe! Although we miss you so very much, we know you are in a much better place now with no pain or suffering cooking up a storm!! Until we are together again, you are forever in our hearts and memories.
We love you forever, Vichnaya Pamyat!!
