Tatyana Velychko-Simpson Obituary

Tatyana Velychko-Simpson

2005 – 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Tatyana Martha Velychko-Simpson on Friday, March 10, 2023, at Children’s Hospital at the young age of 17.  Tatyana was born on June 14th, 2005 in Winnipeg, Manitoba and was attending Vincent Massey Collegiate.  Though Tatyana was only here for a short time, she has made a lasting impression on many.

Besides spending time with family and friends, Tatyana had a talent to create things that brought smiles to many.  She loved to crochet, bead, make jewelry, friendship bracelets, skating and skateboarding.  Tatyana had a passion for incense and healing crystals and was known for her ability to sense when people needed her help.  She was a strong advocate for mental health and was working on the board at Children’s Hospital to make changes to their ER.  Even in the end her giving nature, kind spirit and heart answered 5 prayers as she donated her organs.  She touched many lives with her kind-hearted spirit, generosity, and zest for life.

Tatyana will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by Leda, her mother; Brothers Marcus and Andriy; Sisters Kaitlyn and Cassie; Baba Orysia; Auntie Danusha; Jason, her father; grandparents Helen and Gary; and extended family members and friends.

A celebration of Tatyana’s life will be held at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street at 1:00 pm, Saturday, March 18, 2023.  A reception will follow.

She will be missed by all.
