Tillie Los Obituary

It is with sad hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother, Baba and Great Baba, Tillie Los.  Mom passed away peacefully at Vista Park Lodge in Winnipeg on June 29, 2020 at the age of 96 with her family by her side.

Mom was born on December 3, 1923 to Wasyl and Marie Weselowski in Sifton Manitoba.  After her education she left the family farm to begin her life in the work force.  Her jobs ranged from nurseries, to assisting as farm help, to working in a grocery store.  While working at a grocery store in Ashville, Mom met Max Los who became her life partner.  On May 23, 1943, Mom married Dad and they enjoyed 75 years of marriage.

Together they worked on farms in the Dauphin and Gilbert Plains area until they were able to purchase their first parcel of land in the Mink Creek area.

Mom was a very hard working lady who enjoyed picking berries, mushrooms, sewing, and especially cooking.  Mom was an amazing cook and many relatives and friends enjoyed and will remember her delicious dinner spreads.  When she felt that there wouldn’t be enough food, she would send Dad to KFC for a bucket of chicken to fill the table.  Her passion was her flowers and garden that she nursed throughout the season.  She always shared her garden harvest with everyone.

When Mom moved to Dauphin she still found the time in her schedule to work at a local greenhouse and at a home for disabled people.  She was a member of the Ukrainian Catholic Women’s League for over 25 years and enjoyed making perogies and serving meals for many occasions.  For many years she volunteered at the St Paul’s Personal Care Home, assisting staff in entertaining residents.

Left to cherish Mom’s memories are her children, Trudy (Ralph) Ens, Joyce (Clarence) Lazaruk, Ed (Chris), Vern (Marge), Clifford (Val), 13 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.  She was predeceased by her husband Max, her parents Wasyl & Marie (Chunick) Weselowski , and 8 siblings.  She is also survived by her sister Jean Chatyrbuk.

Mom, you will be missed, but not forgotten.  Rest peacefully, we love you.
