Tsering Leba Obituary


Tsering Dolkar Leba (born Mingma Dolma) was born in the picturesque town of Domo, Tibet, and was affectionately known as Amala to her children, Mo’la to her grandchildren and MoMo’la to her great grandchildren. She embarked on a life journey marked by unwavering resilience, unconditional love, and an unbreakable spirit.

Despite life’s challenges, her infectious smile, warm heart, and generous nature earned her the love and respect of all who knew her.

In 1963, Tsering met the love of her life, Thupten and became his partner in every sense. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, tears, and adventure.

Throughout her life she remained devoted to her family, always putting others before herself. Her love, guidance, and support inspired countless lives, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of all who knew her.

As we bid farewell to this extraordinary woman, we take comfort in the knowledge that her legacy of love, and kindness which will continue to inspire generations to come.

Rest in peace, dear Amala. Your love, light, and laughter will never be forgotten.

Tsering was predeceased by her beloved husband, Thupten Leba, who passed away in May 2023. She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Pema Lhamo, Pempa Tsering, Champa Tenzin, Tenzin Leksang and wife Minky, Tsering Tenzin, Pasang Dolma and husband Kevin. 

She also leaves behind a legacy of love through her eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, we ask you to consider donating to a Tibetan Association in your local area or the Geshela Temple of Calgary to preserve our Tibetan culture and Amala’s memory.
