Lynne Kilpatrick
(née Lagacé)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Lynne Kilpatrick. She passed away at Riverview Health Centre at the age of 58 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Lynne was predeceased by her parents René and Irène Lagacé, her father and mother-in-law Robert and Sheila Kilpatrick and her brother-in-law Terry Kilpatrick.
Lynne will be lovingly remembered by her husband Keith; her sons Aaron (Wassana) and Cam (girlfriend Deanna); her siblings Lucie (Bruce Hewitt), Denis Lagacé (Mary-Ann), Valerie (Cliff Sprague) and Roger Lagacé (Kevin Roche); her niece Helen Lagacé (Dana Bredin) and her nephew Daniel Skelly (Theresa). She will also be greatly missed by her brother-in-law Randy Kilpatrick (Marilyn) and her nephew Ryan Checkowski (Michele).
Lynne was raised in La Salle, Manitoba and completed high school at St. Norbert Collegiate. She graduated as an RN from Misericordia Hospital in 1980. Lynne spent her entire nursing career at Children’s Hospital and excelled in all her positions. She was loved and respected by her co-workers. The children that were in her care were especially fortunate.
Lynne married Keith on September 28, 1985. They were dedicated parents and worked very hard to raise their sons Aaron and Cam. Keith, Aaron and Cam always came first. Lynne encouraged and supported her boys in all of their school and sports activities. She was the best hockey mom.
Lynne was also very close to her family and friends. Holidays and family gatherings were so important to Lynne. She made friends easily and had lifelong friendships that included high school friends, co-workers, hockey moms and dads as well as her Chemo Savvy Dragon Boat Team.
Lynne and Keith loved to travel and had the opportunity to take many wonderful vacations including an Alaskan Cruise, and trips to Mexico, Europe and Thailand.
Lynne’s family would like to extend special thanks to the staff at the Buhler Cancer Centre at the Victoria Hospital and the Palliative Care Unit on 3 East Wing at the Riverview Health Centre. In lieu of flowers, friends and family are invited to make a donation in memory of Lynne to a charity of your choice or to CancerCare Manitoba at 675 McDermot Avenue.
Lynne’s Memorial Service will be held on Friday, March 1st at 11:00 AM at Holy Redeemer Church at 264 Donwood Drive.
