Korban Funeral Chapel has built a legacy by helping their clients create beautiful memorials and funerals for their deceased loved ones. Saying goodbye is never an easy experience but our caring team makes the process as comfortable as possible. Korban Funeral Chapel has been serving the greater Winnipeg area since 1977 with affordable funeral services that fit within your budget.
Our history is long and steeped with family tradition. Korban Funeral Chapel was originally established by Martin and Helen Korban and along with their son, Richard, they ran the funeral home in Winnipeg for decades. After Martin passed away in 2001, the funeral home was directed by Richard and Donna, his wife.
The story would not be complete without bringing in their fellow friend and funeral director, Joe Coffey. In 2016, Richard and Donna passed the business onto Joe and he has been running it with his family ever since.
Joe grew up in the Manitoba area and went on to study philosophy and theology for priesthood with the Basilian Fathers. From there, he began to study to become a funeral director. Because of his extensive education and experience, Joe Coffey has trained funeral directors and embalmers across the country. You can rest assured that you are in capable and competent hands when you trust Korban Funeral Chapel to be your go-to funeral home in Winnipeg.
We pride ourselves on being available to you any time of day, any day of the week. We keep our doors open so that you can conveniently visit our funeral home in person. No matter what kind of funeral you want, our family-owned funeral home can help. We are accustomed to planning cultural funerals that have unique elements. Our family care team can help you every step of the way from planning a funeral service, to a burial, to a cremation memorial service.
One of the main things that Korban Funeral Chapel specializes in is Catholic services. Joe Coffey and his family are regular parishioners at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic Church and they have intimate knowledge about what is expected for a Catholic service.
While many of our clients come to us for religious services, secular services are a popular option as well. We can help you select readings and music of a secular variety that will appeal to a broad range of people. If religion is not your preference or did not matter to your loved one, we can help you plan a simple service with no religious overtones. Just let us know what kind of service you want.
