Anna Kostecky Obituary

Anna Kostecky (Woloszyn)

With her daughter by her side, Anna Kostecky beloved Mother and Babcha, fell into eternal sleep on Friday, June 14, 2019 at Seven Oaks Hospital.

Anna was born November 28, 1925 in Petriliw Ukraine.  In 1941 she left for Germany and there met and married her husband Michael.  They immigrated to Canada arriving in Kylemore, SK on October 30, 1949 and then later settling in Winnipeg in 1952.

Mom worked full time for over 30 years as a seamstress in various factories retiring in 1989.  In her spare time during the summer she would enjoy spending time in her yard, tending to her flowers and garden. Once she sold the family home and moved to Ivan Franko Manor, she enjoyed going to the casino with her friends up until her hospitalization.

Mom’s foremost concern was always for her family and loved when we would all be together at holiday time.  Her happiest time that always brought a smile to her face was when she would talk and spend time with her one and only precious granddaughter, Ivanka.

Anna leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Irene (Bohdan); granddaughter Ivanka; nephew Henry Zbuk (Gail), grand-nephews, Kevin (Lenore); Randy; John and Joshua. She was predeceased by her daughter Sylvia in 1971, husband Michael in 2006, and her sister Stefania in 2012.

Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. June 19th, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Ukrainian Catholic Church, 250 Jefferson Ave. with

Rev. Dmytro Dnistrian CSsR as celebrant.   Internment will follow in All Saints Cemetery.

A special thank you to the Doctors and nurses in Dialysis 1 at Seven Oaks for the care they provided that allowed Mom to be with us for 4 more years.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
