Antun Hancar Obituary

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Antun Hancar at the age of 61 years, in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Antun was born July 18, 1961 in the village of Ravan, Slavonija in Croatia. As a young man, he left his beloved family in search of a better future; a journey that took him across Europe until he finally settled in Winnipeg. A proud native of Croatia, Antun was equally proud of his Ukrainian roots as well.

Antun will forever remain in the hearts of his siblings Josip (Mara), Ivica (Marija), Zdravko, Marica (Antun), and Anica as well as his beloved nieces and nephews in the Republic of Croatia. He will also be missed by his cousins in Germany and many friends throughout the world. Antun was predeceased by his parents Josip and Manda.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 21 at 1:00 PM at the St. Nicholas Tavelich Croatian Church at 2688 Main St. in Winnipeg with interment to follow at All Saints Cemetery at 4535 Main St. in West St. Paul. Reverend Father Peter Nemcek and Reverend Father Ihor Shved will be the officiants for the services.

His noble and strong spirit, full of life's joy and love, will forever remain in our hearts, thoughts, and prayers… loved ones do not die as long as those who remember them live.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
