It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Calla Komarnicki (nee Broom). Calla passed away peacefully at the young age of 50, on Thursday October 10th, 2019 at Riverview Health Centre with her family at her side. Calla was a loving wife, mother, baba, daughter, sister & friend. Calla was born April 9, 1969 in North Battleford SK.
Left to cherish her memory is her Husband & best friend Kevin, her three children Megan (Adam) Hannah (Josh) and Thomas (Heather Misko): 3 grandchildren: Emerson, Addison & Rhyerson; Mother: Mary Anne Broom; Father in Law: Alex Komarnicki; Sister: Shelley Broom; Sister-in-law: Klarissa Komarnicki as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calla is predeceased by her Father: Ken Broom; Mother-in-law: Adel Komarnicki; Grandparents: Doreen & Ed Broom, Dorothy & Gordon Covey; Grandparents-in-law: Tina & William Komarniski. As well as other numerous grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Paul Daeninck as well as the Palliative Care staff, home care staff & the doctors and nurses at the Riverview Health Centre for their help, kindness and compassion.
Prayers will be held on Tuesday October 15th at 7:00 pm and the Funeral will take place Wednesday October 16th at 10:30 am. Both will be held at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue, Winnipeg MB. with Very Rev. Fr. Mark Gnutel officiating, along with Rev. Fr. John Mostivsky. The interment will be at Thomson in the Park Cemetery, 1291 McGillivray Blvd.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church.
