Georgina Wilding Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of Georgina Wilding (nee Brookes) announces her passing on December 15, 2020 at the age of 91.  She is survived by her two children Diane (Dwayne), Brian (Kelly), her granddaughter Jordan and two nephews Kevin Brookes and Christian Brookes. Georgina was predeceased by her loving husband of 62 years, James Wilding on February 6, 2018.

Mom was born in Winnipeg on November 18, 1929 and had four brothers, whom she adored. She went to Daniel McIntyre High School and then met the love of her life, our Dad, while working at John Wood in Winnipeg. Mom was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend.  She was the sweetest, most kind, gentle soul you could ever meet. Her greatest joy was helping people, whether it was volunteering at a home for unwed mothers or being part of the ACW at her church.  However, her greatest joy was helping to raise her “precious little angel”, her granddaughter Jordan.

We would like to thank all the staff at Extendicare Oakview Place for the care and support they provided to Mom. In lieu of flowers, should friends wish to make a donation in Georgina’s memory, they could do so to St. Andrews Woodhaven Anglican Church, 2700 Portage Ave, Winnipeg, MB R3J 0R1.  Due to COVID restrictions, a celebration of Mom’s life and internment will be held at a later date when it is safe to do so.

Friends and family have shared their relationship to show their support.
