Linda Yaremchuk Obituary

Linda Louise Yaremchuk passed away peacefully on Saturday May 22, 2021 at the age of 74 in the Vita and District Health Center following a short battle with cancer. Linda was born on August 8, 1946 in Vita, Manitoba.  Growing up in Piney with her parents Brue and Ilo Edbom and siblings, Jim, Doreen and twin sister Susan. She attended elementary and high school in Piney.  Linda married William Yaremchuk in October 2, 1965. They resided in Winnipeg raising their two sons, Terry and Tim while Bill ran his construction business and Linda pursued her career. Many weekends were enjoyed at the farm in Sundown – Spending time with family, farming, gardening as well as getting together with friends and family.

Following High School Graduation, Linda moved to Winnipeg starting her career at the Bank of Commerce in 1964. She then worked at the Revenue Canada Data Centre later transferring to the Revenue Canada Taxation Centre. During this time, Linda also did accounting services for Bill’s business, Yaremchuk Construction. Linda retired from the Taxation Centre in 2004.

Linda really enjoyed her career at the Taxation Centre. …..  She had a passion for working in that field. She enjoyed the time worked at the Taxation Centre, the people she worked with, and the friendships. She enjoyed the pay-day draws held within her work group.  Following retirement, Linda and Bill made a permanent move to their property in Sundown, Manitoba. Retiring in Sundown, she was closer to Piney and was able to spend more time with her Mom and sister Susan. Linda and Bill enjoyed a huge garden. They were so proud of their tomatoes and garlic. They only downsized their garden in the past couple of years. She and Bill made many preserves from their bountiful garden sharing with family and friends. Linda would always put on a great food spread – she had the best pedishky with garlic. Linda was also an avid reader. She loved reading before going to bed. She had stacks of books that she read.

Linda was predeceased by her son, Terry; Father Brue; Mother Ilo, Brother Jim and Sister Susan.

Left to remember Linda is her husband of 55 years – William; her son Tim and wife Roseanne; grandchildren Jeremy and partner, Courtney; Terry’s daughter, Haley; Dylan and Robyn; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff at the Vita and District Health Centre for their kind compassionate care and support. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Palliative Care Unit, Vita and District Health Centre.
