Michael Petrides Obituary

Michael Petrides

March 24, 1937 – March 11, 2019

With saddened hearts, and in the loving company of his wife, the family announces the passing of Michael Petrides on March 11, 2019.

Michael, the youngest of four children, was born in Amman, Jordan.  Always with great joy he recalled memories of his family back home.  As a young man, he worked at his brother’s record shop and acquired a love for music.  He came to Canada to see the snow and stayed because he loved it so.  He worked as a welder for many years.  He met his wife and started a family of his own.  He loved to joke and make people laugh and even in his final days he made sure to do just that.  Papou, the music we play is for you.  Now with the angels, your dream to dance has come true.

Michael is survived by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, sisters, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews in Jordan and around the world.

Prayers will be held Tuesday, March 19 at 7:00 pm at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church, 2255 Grant Ave. The Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, March 20 at 11:00 am at St. Demetrios with Rev. Fr. Nikolaos Tambakis officiating.  Interment will follow at Brookside Cemetery.
