Nicholas Maksymowycz

October 22, 1925 – December 23, 2020

With sadness and heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Nicholas Maksymowycz with family by his side on Thursday, December 23, 2020 at the age of 95 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, wife Anna (1997) of 51 years, son Bill (2005) and daughter-in-law April (2018).

Left to mourn his passing are his son Walter, daughter in-law Bonnie, grandchildren: Clayton, Alysia, Jason (Courtney) Justin (Alexandra), great grandchildren Jesse and Shaena and many nieces and nephews.

Nick was born in Chlopezyce, Ukraine and immigrated to Canada in 1950.  He worked in the construction industry before moving to Canadian Bronze where he spent 35 years until his retirement. He loved watching hockey, wrestling and was an avid cook who loved to share the “right” way to make cabbage rolls and perogies.  He enjoyed driving every day to have coffee with his buddies.  At 94 years old, an appointment had to be made just to see him as he would never be at home, always driving around to check if dogs needed to be let out or seeing if friends or family needed help.

Dad was a pillar of the family and only wanted the best for them and was someone you could count on when needed.  His loving nature and fond memories will be his family’s eternal light.  He will be greatly missed.

The family wishes to thank the Doctors, Nursing staff and Health Care Aides at Riverview (3E2) for the compassionate care they provided.
