It is with deep sorrow and sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and Gido Ronald (Ron) Husak who, at the age of 88, died on July 17, 2019 at the Riverview Health Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Born on July 15, 1931 in the Rural Municipality of Mossey River (Ukraina, Manitoba) to parents Steve and Edna (nee Harrison) Husak. Ron attended and completed his education at Borshaw School (Mink Creek). Upon completion of his schooling, Ron worked with his dad on the family farm in addition to being hired by other local farmers. In 1950, Ron moved west seeking work and was employed as a farmhand in Wroxton, Saskatchewan. In 1951, Ron relocated to Regina, Saskatchewan where he again found work as a farmhand. In 1954, Ron began working for Lloyd Miller Construction which allowed him to return home to Ethelbert (Mink Creek) over the winter months. In May of 1959, Lloyd Miller offered a $500.00 wedding gift to the first employee who would marry. Ron, already engaged, surprised Lloyd with wedding invitation and was given the financial gift as promised. Ron remained with Lloyd Miller Construction for 12 years.
Following their marriage on May 26, 1959, Ron and Adeline relocated to Regina, Saskatchewan where Ron continued to work in construction and Adeline found employment at Simpson’s Sears. Following the birth of their first daughter, Rose, Adeline returned to and lived on the family farm in Ethelbert, Manitoba (Mink Creek). Ron continued to work construction during the summer months in Regina and returned to the farm for the winter. In 1965, Ron decided to leave construction and returned to the family farm where he and Adeline began keeping animals and grain farming. In 1971, their second daughter, Beverly, was born.
Together, Ron and Adeline raised their daughters while working the fields and tending to a large flock of animals that included horses, cows, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, geese, ducks, turkeys, and of course, cats and dogs. Although, at times difficult, Ron and Adeline enjoyed their life together to the fullest. In May of 2014, Ron suffered a stroke which led to he and Adeline relocating to Dauphin, Manitoba.
Ron will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. To mourn his passing and cherish many fond memories are his loving wife Adeline, daughter Rose and her husband Chuck (Winnipeg, Manitoba), daughter Beverly and her husband Arnie (Winnipeg, Manitoba), grandchildren Brandy and partner Jason (Creighton, Saskatchewan), David and partner Joanne (Denare Beach, Saskatchewan), Crystal and Derek (Winnipeg, Manitoba), great grandchildren Jacob and Zander (Creighton, Saskatchewan) and, step-grandchildren Kaylie and Kyle.
